As a retired senior citizen, convenience and comfort are top priorities when travelling. It was amazing to be located so close to Osaka Castle and be able to take casual strolls and spend the mornings under all the cherry blossom trees. The subway station was an even shorter distance away, but if you'd prefer a more relaxed and slower-paced day away from downtown, there are quite a number of good restaurants and convenience stores all within a block's vicinity. The Lutheran was also probably the cleanest and most quiet hotel we've stayed in. Rooms were larger than what you'd expect in Japan, and there was never a crowd in the restaurant or lobby. Breakfast was also very satisfying. And to give an idea of what service (and Japanese culture in general) was like, the front desk made an ever so insignificant error in computing tax charges when we checked in, something we never would have noticed or given much attention to. Upon checking out, we were surprised by their profuse apologies (we weren't even aware of the mistake) and immediate rectification of the amount. Such a good impression to leave with.

The rooms were very nice, the bed was comfy and the bathroom was nice too. The location is great! Close to the subway and a few minutes walk to Osaka Castle. However I cannot say enough good things about the staff at Hotel the Lutheran. My sister and I stayed for five nights but on our second night we suffered a terrible tragedy: my pregnant sister lost her baby. The staff called an ambulance for us and afterward they helped in anyway they could; made phone calls to funeral homes and helped guide us through the process of cremation. They also called us a taxi anytime we needed it. I wish I could say that I enjoyed my stay but despite going through the toughest days of our lives, the staff made it that much easier for us. And we are forever thankful for them ❤️

The room is clean, and staffs are friendly. Nice location. We booked a double room for four nights, the daily cleaning service is very good. The bed and pillow are wonderful. And we have a big table in the room. The bathroom is also very good, we liked the bathroom system. But the tub is a little bit small for people who is over 170cm I think. Breakfast is delicious. The nearest railway station has stairs (exit 1B) and elevator (exit 1A). It is really helpful because we have two big cases. Every staffs were nice and helped us a lot. And the most important is that the price was very reasonable. We will want to stay here again next time we come to Osaka.

Everything about this hotel exceeds my expectation! The room is spacious, which is not that common in Japan, and of course it is equipped with all the facilities you need. The breakfast is great, there are a variety of bread, salads, juices and local Japanese dishes and disserts. All the staff are nice, I felt very welcome. Last but not least, you may think the location is not very central, but it is actually walkable to Osaka Castle, and the metro station is just around the corner. I can't believe I was able to stay here with very affordable price during peak Momiji season in the middle of a long-weekend holiday.

location! it is a short few mins walk from subway tanimachi-4 chome exit 3 (if i rmbr correctly, right in front of 7-11 : as shown in my attached image).. i dont know why google kept leading us to exit 2 which requires us to cross the road while exit 3 is at the same side and js a straight walk to the hotel. very conveniently located, walking distance (also short few minutes) on the other side to osaka castle.. coin laundry available. front counter service is friendly and helpful! keep it up!
